This Month, It's All About the Books!
Hey there!
Not a whole lot to share from the life and times of H.C. Bentley this month (I’m pretty boring most of the time, TBH), so we’re just going to just jump straight into this month’s book news! :)
Saving Her Cowboy
I am, unfortunately, still in rewrites and conferring with my editor. I do not have a new preorder/release date yet, but you will be the first to know when I do! You can preorder it here or, if you prefer to wait, it will be uploaded to the major retailers soon after my bookstore release.
(If you haven’t read the preview I posted yet, and want to, you can find the link for that here.)
From The Bookshelf
I renamed this section because I was constantly finding myself between books when it was time for newsletter prep, so the ‘currently reading’ line didn’t really track. So now, I’ll just be telling you about the books I’ve read since we chatted last.
The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. This one was a rec from a patron at work and I mentally damned her (repeatedly) as the story ripped me apart. The themes of the trials of both motherhood and military life hit home for me, and the development of the relationship between the two MCs was intriguing. Highly recommend.
Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge NR fan. But this latest one was kind of a let down for me. I enjoyed the story between the two MCs, as well as the characters connected to them, but something about the antagonists of the story just never did it for me. Plus, the ending felt a little rushed. Was this book enjoyable? Yes. Is it my favorite NR book? Sadly, no.
The Gibson Boys Collection by Adriana Locke. I found this audiobook set on sale, so I figured I'd give it a try, as I've been in her reader group for quite awhile and needed something new to listen to. Y'all, lemme just say *whew*, these boys! Small-town, blue collar, and a whole lotta spice. When I finished the Gibson Boys, I went back and picked up the first two of the Brewer Family series. The rest have to wait until I have extra room in my budget! lol (I’ve already started them all over again to hold me over until I do!)
About That New Content In The Works!
The podcast has a name (and a link)! Introducing The Story Studio, home of my podcast where I’ll be talking with other members of the romance book industry about a variety of topics, from both reader and author points of view. I don’t have any episodes up yet, but hopefully those will be coming soon.
The planning for new content is coming along nicely! If you’re a romance author or part of the romance book industry, and you’re interested in participating, let me know!). If you’re not subscribed to this newsletter, be sure to add your name to the list so that you don’t miss any updates!
That about wraps things up. :) Until next time, happy reading!
